What security cameras work for a cafe?
Cafe camera shopping is less about brand hype and more about coverage: door, counter/till, floor, and whether you can view and replay on your phone. This page is a buy-intent bridge — not a ranked “best of” with invented scores.
Short answer
Choose cameras (or keep the ones you have) that clearly cover entrance, till/counter, and main floor; support reliable phone live + playback; and fit your existing NVR/cloud setup. Prefer systems you will actually review over features you will never open. Many cafes already have usable gear — the gap is often insight and process, not another box on the wall.
Coverage that matters in a cafe
- Entrance — who comes in, queue forming outside.
- Counter / till — cash integrity and dispute review.
- Floor / seating — service flow, not break-room surveillance.
- Back door / stock if theft or delivery risk is real for your site.
Buying and using without the spy vibe
Ask vendors about remote phone view, retention, and night performance if you open early or close late. Then decide how you’ll use footage — exceptions and incidents — see view CCTV on phone and AU CCTV monitor staff. Cash problems are often process + review, not only more lenses: catch employee theft.
Note: “Do I need cameras / are they worth it” is a different question. If you already have cameras, improving how you use them (playback + POS context) usually beats a rip-and-replace.
